David is a hugely successful businessman with an environmental bent and a man to be admired. David is one of the people whose SALA's founders, Scott and Sandie Elsom, have modelled themselves on.
He was one of the first people to take notice of SALA's homes, turning up to The Green project where he met a surprised Scott Elsom (SALA's Founder) who was covered in mud!
He is doing everything he can to get the professional community to take notice of the need for environmental change. He has been involved with a number of successful companies and is currently Chairman of Papyrus Australia (ASX code: PPY), an innovative company that has developed a new carbon neutral process to make paper out of banana plants without pulping. Papyrus's technology produces a fibre mat from the trunks of banana plants using no external water or chemicals and minimal energy.
David has also just been appointed Chairman of Green Edge Ethical Investments, who invest in and develop green residential developments such as ecovillages. He is a long-term supporter of Currumbin EcoVillage where he is currently building a sustainable home. He is one of the 21st Century doers who can really influence the way the community embraces environmental issues . David Wyatt is running for the Seat of Bonner in the Lower House for The Greens Party in this coming Federal Election.
